Drawing inspiration from her background in climbing and guerilla urban pursuits, Erin Coates created KINESPHERE, an expansive landscape of drawings, vertiginous 3D films, and a climbing centre – all pivoting around a seven-metre-high monolithic pavilion, housing a sonic micro-cinema. This exhibition was shown at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts last year.
This epic publication unites the studies, process, construction and realisation of these new bodies of work and is a stunning feat of design in and of itself by Andy Simionato. It celebrates an artist at a pivotal point in her career and includes writing by Shevaun Cooley and Jack Sergeant.
